I was at The Rack the other night shooting pool with a few friends, and this thought occured to me. Bar fight scenes where the pool stick is utilized in a swinging motion (like a baseball bat) though highly entertaining are drastically wrong. The most effective way to win a fight with a pool stick is to thrust it foward, with the tip of the stick moving in a straight direction (like a dart). If it is possible one should make contact with vulnerable spots such as eye sockets, or the private area. It is obvious that the directors of these movies have never studied aerodynamics, or they are just blatantly ignoring the laws of physics.
This is what American Cinema has amounted to IGNORANCE. Do we want our children to grow up watching films, where people kill and beat the shit out of each other in an ill effective manner? I dont, do you?
